The groups admin team organise UK based socials for the MOD and Public Services LGBT group. They also arrange other events on an 'as and when' basis. The admins also manage the Facebook group where we post events for the London socials, social events around the UK and related information.

The group aims to create a safe space for people to meet in central London, and elsewhere, on a social basis.

We are LGBT members of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) including the Armed Services and Public Services (including all Police, Fire and Ambulance/NHS Services).

Membership of the group is open to all of the above, serving and retired.

The group started as a gathering of LGBT people in the Armed Services and MOD, who knew each other via their official work in late 2009. It started in the basement of the Ku Bar in Frith St and moved to the upstairs of the Ku Bar in Lisle Street as it grew in size and became a regular monthly event. The original organisation was via an email list but that became unwieldy and took a lot of effort to maintain. The Facebook group, which is an interactive way to communicate between members of the group, was started in 2012. Events are now publicised via the Facebook group.

The group has had two aims; to provide a safe space for people to meet up with other LGBT people in the Armed Services and wider public services and to fundraise, when possible, for charities that members have come across either by work or personal experience.

We are proud to say that we have raised approximately £13,000 for charity in the last 7 years.
